When Alyia Valen’s husband, Leon Ashford, announces that he will marry his widowed sister-in-law Vivian to “continue the family line,” Alyia refuses to play the silent, dutiful wife. If Leon can use tradition to justify betrayal, then she can use the same tradition to honor her late sister’s betrothal and bring frontier knight Kane into House Valen. What begins as a marriage war soon exposes years of stolen dowry, forged documents, infertility lies, and a far darker conspiracy involving treason, murder, and the Ashford family’s hunger for Valen power. With Kane at her side, her lost sister Selena returned from the shadows, and Queen Isabella watching, Alyia breaks free from Leon, restores her family’s honor, and proves that the Valen bloodline was never meant to survive through men alone.
