On Halloween night, Emily and her friends stumble into an eerie ancient castle and are forced into a deadly game of rules. Every rule is life or death—the slightest violation brings brutal slaughter by monsters. Chris, the demon lord who rules the castle, is every player's worst nightmare: massive horns, black wings, sharp fangs, and terrifying power. But in Emily's eyes, this feared demon lord is a stunningly handsome man with blond hair, blue eyes, and irresistible appeal. When eerie children demand candy or kill and players die one after another, Emily boldly walks toward Chris and kisses him of her own accord—earning his special favor and cracking the death rules. As the game escalates, Emily realizes winning over the cold-blooded demon lord may be her only chance to survive. And Chris, amused and curious at first, develops a dangerous possessiveness. Between monsters and temptation, Emily must find a way to survive—and make the invincible demon lord's heart race for the first time.
