Emily and her family board the River Wolf for a rainforest river trip to celebrate her brother Finley’s birthday. She has a horrifying premonition dream: a giant crocodile attacks, and she dies in its jaws. When strange signs on the water start matching her dream, Emily begs the family to turn back. But her stepmother Olivia and grandmother spoil Finley, her father James thinks she is jealous, and the captain hides crocodile attack news to keep his business running. They push onward. The monster croc strikes. Finley loses his right arm. Emily saves him and lures the beast away, leading survivors to a lonely island. Yet Finley selfishly drags crewman Toby into the river, letting the croc devour him. Stranded, they face hunger, poison fungi, floods and wild animals. Olivia and Finley keep sabotaging Emily’s escape plans. James later overhears Olivia’s secret: Finley is not his son, and she wants to steal the family fortune. Even after the betrayal, James tries to save Finley, only to be abandoned by them. Hurt but brave, wounded Emily fixes the SOS marker and summons rescue. Olivia wastes evacuation time fighting over money. As the croc closes in, Finley shoves his mother down the slope. Olivia is taken by the croc, and Finley disappears forever. Emily breaks her deadly premonition, gains her father and grandmother’s apology, and they start their new life.
