Top assassin Vesper died in a deep-sea explosion—and woke up in the body of Lyla, an overweight high schooler who’d been bullied at school and drained dry by her own family. Lyla used to take it. Vesper doesn’t. She hits back. She exposes the cheaters, protects her disabled little brother Ethan, and uses skills no high schooler should have—hacking, fighting, medicine. A rescue job for Noah Voss drops a fortune in her lap. Then she meets Dante, Nick, and a whole new kind of danger. Her family still wants her blood. Her sister Lacey still wants her gone. So Lyla goes to the S-Country’s Undercity Arena—straight into her old mercenary past. Armed factions. Old enemies. And Dante, the man who runs the Voss empire, standing right beside her. Then the bridge gives way. They hit the river. Season one ends underwater.
