Sold by her adoptive parents at an underground auction, Ella holds broken glass to her throat and dares anyone to bid. Mafia boss Don Vito Moretti buys her and brings her into a mansion guarded by his five adopted sons. Suspicious of the dangerous outsider, the brothers test her with hunger, humiliation, attack dogs, and loaded guns. But Ella refuses to beg for acceptance. When she is betrayed and sold again, she risks her life to help the Morettis find her. For the first time, the five brothers fight as her real family. Rescued and publicly adopted by Don Vito, Ella receives the black-and-gold ring of succession—and declares that she belongs to no buyer, only to her own choice.
