2024 Wall Street risk analyst Irene refused to launder money. She got fired. Then she got killed in a convenience store robbery. She woke up in 1929 Chicago—chained on an auction block, listed as goods. In the crowd sat Floyd Oldham, the only man on Wall Street who had cashed out fourteen million before the crash. Everyone thought he was insane. She spoke. She gave him numbers only someone from the future could know. He bought her on the spot. They made a deal: she helps him survive the crash, he marries her. The market kept climbing. Floyd listened. He sold everything at the top. They laughed. Then Black Thursday hit. The ones who bought his shares jumped. He became a legend overnight. On their wedding day, his rival William fell from a building. Lucy ended up on the street. A black car pulled up. The door opened. Irene saw who was inside. Her face changed. She knew that person. From 2024. From before she died.
