Emma, heiress to the Northstar Group, is nearing her due date when her husband, Noah, and her best friend, Leah, lure her to the stern of a boat, push her into the sea, and cut her lifeline. Clinging to a floating plank, Emma drifts through a storm all night before struggling ashore on a deserted island. Alone, she faces giant lizards, venomous snakes, and treacherous swamps. She gives birth beneath the roots of a tree, uses red-hot scissors to stop the bleeding, and survives on snails and lizard eggs, repeatedly fighting her way back from the brink of death. Meanwhile, Noah falsifies search-and-rescue routes, deceives Emma’s parents, and poisons her father by tampering with his medication. He pressures Margaret into signing documents declaring Emma dead and prepares to marry Leah and seize control of Northstar. Emma’s brother, Ethan—whom Noah once abandoned on a reef—has been secretly investigating since his recovery. Working with a rescue team, he finally brings Emma and her baby to safety. Armed with recorded evidence, Emma storms into Noah and Leah’s wedding and publicly exposes their crimes, including attempted murder, medication tampering, and forged authorizations. Both are arrested by the police. Emma takes control of the Northstar Group, vowing to reclaim everything they stole.
