Maeve, heiress of the Veyra conglomerate, endures five years as a nanny in Richard’s household to reclaim her late father’s empire. The moment her contract ends, she walks away and takes back control. When her ex-husband Richard, the vicious Jessica, and their son Leo provoke her, she crushes them at galas and investment meetings—and bankrupts Richard outright. Then Richard learns Leo isn’t his biological son. Jessica, cornered, kidnaps Maeve; Richard, consumed by regret, accidentally falls into the sea and dies. In the end, Maeve finds happiness under William’s devoted protection.
