Cecilia, chairman of Sterling Medical Group, spends one day each year working anonymously as an ordinary gynecologist. Her son Adrian insists on marrying Sophia after only a month and threatens to cut ties if refused. Cecilia reluctantly agrees to meet her—just as Sophia and her mother Vanessa walk into her clinic. Sophia's test results show secondary syphilis. She erupts, and she and Vanessa insult and beat Cecilia, demanding she falsify the records, stomping on her hand with a high heel and smashing the phone Adrian gave her. Cecilia reveals she is Adrian's mother, but Sophia calls her a liar. Intern Claire rushes in to stop them and is injured too. Sophia ties Cecilia and Claire up and stuffs them into a closet just as Adrian arrives. Sophia claims Cecilia is a deranged doctor; Adrian, unaware of his mother's secret shift, half-believes her. Cecilia falls unconscious inside the closet; Claire desperately breaks the door open, and Cecilia is rushed into surgery. With no family reachable, the operation nearly halts—Claire pays the fees and recognizes Cecilia as the woman who once saved her own mother. After waking, Cecilia resolves to expose Sophia at the engagement banquet.
