A commoner widow, Elara, goes to Hunter Castle to apply as a wet nurse to save her seriously ill young son, only to unexpectedly reunite with Duke Alexander, with whom she once had a one-night entanglement. Alexander suffers under a misogynist curse, yet is obsessed only with her, drawing the jealousy and relentless scheming of the family’s adopted daughter Eve and his fiancée Sophia. After surviving life-and-death trials—including poisoning, a trial by fire, and the kidnapping of her young son—Elara uses her wisdom and courage to clear her name and prove her innocence. Ultimately, she breaks through the shackles of class, finding love and a complete family with the Duke.
