When Elena shows authority, Ryan assumes she relies on powerful men. Adrian, Victor’s son and Elena’s childhood friend, is wounded protecting her from an ambush; Ryan misreads their bond, breaking Elena’s heart. After Victor is wounded, Elena stops hiding. She exposes the traitor, seizes the family, and becomes Chicago’s underworld queen. Ryan finally learns the truth: Victor was her guardian and Samantha lied. Samantha kidnaps Elena but is captured. Ryan begs for another chance; Elena refuses. She takes the ring and rules beside Adrian, leaving Ryan forever in regret.
