Weighing 180 jin, Matilde Bennett shed a staggering 80 jin in a single year, transforming herself into a goddess. After sitting at the wrong table during a blind date, she unexpectedly married Maximilian Wentworth, the reserved heir to a fortune on New York’s Upper East Side, in a whirlwind wedding. In bed, the two hit it off immediately; out of bed, they remained polite yet distant. Maximilian believed in putting work first, and the couple maintained a respectful, formal relationship—yet after the wedding, he repeatedly broke his own rules, finding all sorts of ways to come home and cling to his wife. Frustrated by his wife’s coldness, Maximilian established three household rules: she must hug him at least twenty times a day, kiss him forty times, and call him “husband” eighty times!
