Evernight City, at the border of the Wolf and Frost clans, is guarded by a joint human-nonhuman defense force. Ronan, the Wolf Clan's peak Alpha, suffers from demon-core backlash and old emotional wounds. Elara, a Frost Clan purification officer, becomes his partner but is caught in a three-year-old "betrayal" and power schemes. Her identity gem is tampered with, her powers questioned, and she endures humiliation while proving her innocence. As monsters escalate and old love resurfaces, they move from hostility to interdependence—rebuilding their bond amid truth and fate. Power, bloodline, and love intertwine in a dark contract of marking, control, and redemption.
