For three years after marrying into a wealthy family, Sophia has been nothing more than a “mute, useless wife” in the eyes of her husband, Theodore. Their marriage was arranged by his father on his deathbed, and Theodore has taken out all his resentment on her ever since. One night, during a drinking party, Theodore gives in to his friends’ taunts and abandons a drunken Sophia on the street. That same night, she unexpectedly falls into the arms of a mysterious stranger, only to flee in panic when she wakes up. But when Sophia returns to the family estate, she catches her husband passionately kissing her beautiful stepsister. Heartbroken, she runs away into the pouring rain—only to encounter the mysterious man once again. Little does she know that their scandalous entanglement has already changed her destiny forever. When Sophia sees him again at the Thorne family banquet, everyone in the room bows respectfully before him. The man whom the entire upper class is desperate to please turns out to be none other than the legendary Mafia Godfather!
