Ten years ago, the patriarch Richard Bennett spent thirty million dollars to save the nearly bankrupt Hawthorne family, on the condition that his daughter Evelyn would one day marry one of the Hawthorne brothers, Alex or Julian. Three years later, the Hawthornes not only broke their promise, but also conspired to transfer the Bennett family's funds, falsify accounts, and force away their partners—pinning all the blame on Richard and driving him to his death. Overnight, Evelyn lost everything and saw the two people she had once trusted for who they really were. Three years later, she returned under a new identity as a mysterious billionaire investor. Facing Alex and Julian, now rising stars on Wall Street, she did not seek direct revenge. Instead, she exploited their personality flaws, using love as bait to make them compete for her and for power, until they turned against each other. She even married Alex, entering the family's core as Mrs. Hawthorne to find evidence of how her father had been framed. When the truth came out, Alex died at Julian's hands, Julian destroyed himself amid the collapse of love and hate, and Charles lost the entire family. Evelyn reclaimed everything that belonged to the Bennett family. Five years later, she rebuilt the family business and found a new, genuine love.
