Beast King Elden bears a lethal lightning curse—any living thing he touches burns to cinders. Human girl Vera is the only one who can endure his touch. To break the curse, he forces her into marriage by holding her mother hostage. Vera resents him, but glimpses his sincere heart: he heals her, shields her, and crumbles when she prays for him barefoot through brambles. The curse can be broken by consummation—but Vera would die from the backlash. Elden makes an antidote, but the villainess Lia swaps it for poison. On their wedding night, the curse lifts—but Vera collapses, never to wake. Elden mourns her for six years at her grave. But Vera is alive, raising twin children with golden beast ears in the human slums. One snowy day, her daughter clings to a passing man's leg—"Daddy." Elden finds his lost family. But Vera cannot forgive his deception, and an old enemy's father has raised a poison bow, vowing blood revenge.
