Sierra Bennett's world shatters when she catches her fiancé, Michael, hooking up with her backstabbing best friend, Laura, right in the dressing room. High on his upcoming promotion to the Duke's elite guard, Michael cruelly sneers at Sierra. ""You're just a lowly seamstress,"" he mocks. ""You're completely out of my league now."" With a stinging slap across his face, Sierra storms out into the castle's dimly lit corridor—only to crash directly into a cold, muscular chest. She looks up into the icy eyes of Duke Alex Drake. He's the ruthless Lord of the North, the ultimate protector of the Empire, and ironically, the very man Michael is desperate to impress. Fueled by heartbreak and a burning desire for revenge, Sierra makes a bold move: that night, she seduces the untouchable Duke. She thinks it's just a transactional fling to get back at her ex. But what she doesn't know is that the universe sealed their fate a long time ago... they are fated mates.
