When Oliver—lawyer Natalie's first love—hits and kills an elderly man in a hit-and-run, her husband Weston wants to bring him to justice for the victim's sake. But Natalie, believing the dead man is Weston's father, uses her legal expertise to block the case and personally defend Oliver. She successfully argues in court that the death was a staged accident. Oliver walks free. Then the truth shatters her: the victim was not her husband's father, but her own. Consumed by guilt, Natalie faces the wreckage of her choices—and a justice that can no longer be served.
