Nora Vance, the sole heiress of Boston’s elite Vance business dynasty, grew up showered with love and privilege. Thomas Croft and his son Carter, the family’s long-serving estate steward and his boy, have leached off the Vances for decades. Carter exploited Nora’s fondness to sneak into high society, putting on the facade of a refined gentleman. Chloe Sterling, whom Nora trusted as her closest friend, seethed with secret envy and craved Nora’s fortune and status. The Boston underworld is ruled by Killian Moretti. The Moretti family controls the underground order, operating a multinational investment conglomerate as their legitimate front, wielding immense power with ruthless tactics. He has always loved Nora, yet the Nora of her past life rejected and kept him at arm’s length because of his dangerous identity, leaving him to guard her from the shadows silently. In her previous life, a naive, love-struck Nora trusted the wrong people. Carter and Chloe plotted together, drained the Vance family fortune, then injected a fatal drug into the terminally ill Nora and staged her death as a suicide. As she drew her last breath, only Killian forced his way through every barrier to reach her. He held her lifeless body, consumed by grief that haunted him forever. Reborn five years back in time, Nora returns to a moment when her enemies still hide behind innocent masks, and Killian has not yet fully cemented his reign over the underworld. Fueled by the agony and regret of her brutal death, Nora abandons her naivety. She is determined to unmask the hypocrites, exact revenge on the traitorous man and false friend, protect her family’s legacy — and choose to walk toward the man who loved her quietly in her past life.
