As an earl's daughter, Sophia marries a seemingly foolish beggar Ares despite her family's constant mockery, treating him kindly for years. On the day her family forces her to wed a marquis's son, Ares regains his sealed powers and memories—he is the mighty Sun God, exiled to earth for 500 years to experience mortal suffering. He swears to protect Sophia, making all who bullied her kneel and crown her his holy divine queen.
