Los Angeles heir Sean, CEO of Xiao Global Group, and Eleanor Howe, heiress of the Howe Group, fall in love and pledge themselves with a splittable sapphire brooch. After a car accident, Eleanor loses her memory, takes the name Nora Hayes, drifts into a working-class neighborhood, and alone gives birth to their daughter Wendy. Eight years later, Sean mistakes Wendy for a thief in a cemetery, causing a fierce misunderstanding; when Nora falls gravely ill, Wendy pawns half the heirloom jewelry and meets Sean again. Sean's grandmother Vivian blocks their reunion and bribes an agency to falsify the DNA report. Sean's cousin Hayley, a forensic anthropologist, spots the flaw, preserves the original samples, and sends them to an independent lab, confirming Wendy is Sean's biological daughter. Vivian and Howe heiress Selina use gray forces to plot kidnapping, illegal detention, and online humiliation. Sean gathers evidence and joins LAPD and the FBI; after an engagement-banquet confrontation, a fire rescue, and a hostage crisis, the conspiracy is exposed publicly. Selina and fixer Todd are arrested, Vivian faces judicial investigation, and Howe chairman Richard repents and takes legal responsibility. Sean and Nora finally hold a charity wedding, and the family of three breaks free from past grudges and embraces a stable, happy life.
