Cursed by Bloodburn, Vampire King Kane has fourteen days before the eclipse kills him. Only a human bride with the Dawn Bloodmark can save him. He forces Mia into a blood contract—marriage and the ritual—trading her tuition and her grandmother's cure. Mia falls for him, spending millions and shedding blood for the Dawn Ring. On his birthday she confesses; he pushes her away to protect her. Humiliated at the banquet, she signs divorce papers. Kane arrives and shields his bleeding wife.
