Captain Aurora Donovan lost her parents in a plane crash at the age of eleven. She was taken in by Grayson Pierce, her late father’s close friend and her nominal "uncle". Over twelve years together, she fell in love with him. Just as she earned her FAA captain’s license and planned to confess her feelings, she caught Grayson announcing his engagement to Bianca. Tormented by their age gap and his legal guardianship over her, Grayson dared not return her love. He deliberately humiliated and distanced himself to push her to let go. Seizing the chance, Bianca set up a trap, leading to an unexpected night between Aurora and Grayson. Aurora became pregnant. Manipulated by Bianca, Grayson believed the baby belonged to another man and forced her to terminate the pregnancy. Crushed by despair, Aurora volunteered for an extremely dangerous flight mission. Her plane crashed into the sea and she was presumed dead. In truth, she was rescued, assumed a new identity, and gave birth to their son in secret. Three years later, Aurora returns under a new persona. Grayson uncovers the truth about the child and all the old misunderstandings, consumed by regret as he chases after her to win her back. Meanwhile, Bianca kidnaps the boy, and the hidden truth behind Aurora’s parents’ fatal plane crash comes to light. In the life-or-death showdown, Grayson is shot while protecting Aurora and their son. He finally learns to respect her and is ready to let her go. In the end, Aurora, now a fully independent captain who refuses to let anyone control her life, chooses Grayson on her own terms. The family of three is reunited.
