Claire, the heiress to a Wall Street dynasty, marries a doctor named Blake while concealing her true identity. She discovers, however, that he is cheating with a nurse named Mia, has tricked her into raising his illegitimate child as their own, and even faked their marriage certificate. After being abandoned following a car accident, she returns to her wealthy family and withdraws her financial backing, instantly bankrupting the Blake family. At a birthday party, Claire’s true identity is revealed; Blake is left crippled after being struck by a falling chandelier; the illegitimate child dies in a car crash; and Mia plunges to her death during a violent altercation with Blake. Left with nothing, Blake attempts to kidnap Claire and kill them both, only to fall to his death himself.
