Maren, a mountain firefighter, once won the Joint Wildfire Rescue Championship under the call sign "Grey Falcon." To honor her late father's wish to protect Red Bay, she gave up a spot at the National Wildfire Academy. During a wildfire, she risked her life to save the mayor's daughter and twelve campers—but her captain, Corbin, took the credit, and she was fired for drinking a sip of water she had paid for herself. As an underground fire closes in on the old city, Corbin steals her fire-mapping plans and poses as the Grey Falcon's successor, while Deputy Chief Everett helps him falsify data and cover up mistakes, causing the fire to spiral out of control. At the critical moment, Maren arrives, exposes every lie with original data and surveillance evidence, takes command of the scene, rappels into Well No. 7 to pump fire-retardant slurry, and saves over a hundred thousand residents. In the end, the villains are arrested, and Maren is appointed head of the national "Ember Shield" program, receiving the highest firefighting honor.
