Amazon warrior Lyra captures an enemy in the jungle to prove she's not a coward — but can't bring herself to kill the wounded stranger who calls himself Kael. As they fight to survive fire, beasts, and hunters sent to kill them both, their forced alliance turns into a forbidden love neither can resist. But Kael is hiding the truth: he's the King of the Golden Lands, and he came to steal the sacred flower that could save his dying kingdom — the one thing Lyra swore to protect. When his lie is exposed at her people's most sacred sanctuary, Lyra shoots the man she loves with her own arrow. Now betrayed, broken, and stripped of everything, she must decide if loyalty to her people is worth losing him forever.
