Cassius, acting on orders from his mentor Solana, set out for Ashwood to repay a debt. A year later, after begging his way to Whitewax, he was forcefully kissed in the street by Lyanna, the Queen of Bards, who was reluctant to enter into a political marriage. Because of the raven pendant, he became Lyanna’s fiancé and personal bodyguard. On the way to the imperial capital for a banquet, the convoy was intercepted by a legion of beasts led by Darian, the eldest son of Valyrian. Cassius told the others to go ahead while he single-handedly routed the legion and struck down Darian with his hammer. At the banquet, Darian’s sister Selene used lust bugs to manipulate the singing, but Cassius dispelled the magic with his piano. Selene decided to kidnap Lyanna to the Dragon Glass Crater and, teaming up with Magnus—Lyanna’s intended husband from Aeyrn—force her to her death. Just then, Cassius tracked them down. After Selene transformed into the Mother of Lust, he drew the Raven Warhammer, vanquished the evil, and rescued his fiancée!
