Eleanor is a young mother living in Aspen's historic West Side with her husband Ethan and their five-year-old daughter, Maya. On the surface, the family seems well-off—but the truth is far darker. Ethan is an alcoholic and a violent abuser who has long terrorized Eleanor, even strangling her and throwing her to the ground in front of their daughter. To make ends meet, Eleanor works as a cleaner, which brings her into contact with Julian, the president of Brown Group. After an accident leaves Eleanor with a head injury, Julian has her admitted to a VIP hospital room. Cold on the surface—claiming he simply "didn't want anyone dirtying his turf"—he secretly leaves bodyguards to protect her and begins investigating her background. When Mark reports that Eleanor's husband is Ethan and her daughter is Maya, Julian grows increasingly suspicious of why a woman from a wealthy household would work as a cleaner.
