Five years ago, Ella became pregnant with Leo’s child but was forced to leave due to her family’s opposition. To protect her child, she entered into a sham marriage with Leo’s older brother, Ray. After Ray’s unexpected death, Ella struggled to make ends meet while raising her seriously ill son, Noah, on her own. Five years later, with Noah in urgent need of 500,000 for surgery, Ella, with no other options, was forced to return to Leo as his “contract lover,” trading her dignity for the money to save her son’s life. Leo harbors deep resentment toward Ella for her “betrayal” all those years ago and treats her with emotional neglect and humiliation—unaware that he has long since fallen deeply in love with her. Ella endures everything in silence, all to protect Noah’s secret: that the child is Leo’s biological son. As Lily’s frame-up, Uncle Stern’s plot to seize power, and the truth behind Ray’s car accident come to light, the layers of misunderstandings gradually unravel. Leo discovers that Noah’s DNA matches his exactly. Shocked and filled with remorse, he begins a frantic pursuit to win back his wife and protect his son. After weathering the storm of the wedding, the court battle for custody, Lily’s imprisonment, and family betrayal, Leo resolutely renounces most of his inheritance to prove his sincerity through his actions. In the end, Ella is moved, and the two hold a wedding by the sea. Noah recovers from his illness, and the matriarch sets aside her prejudices to accept Ella. The family of three embraces tightly in the sunset, and their contractual arrangement finally transforms into an eternal bond.
