Journalist Vivian, driven by the desire to avenge her father's death, disguises herself as a naive and innocent young woman to get close to the notorious crime lord Cassius, aiming to uncover the real mastermind behind her family's massacre. Fifteen years ago, her father was shot dead at home by a gangster, leaving only a tattoo of a serpent coiled around a skull on the killer's neck as the sole clue. Seven years later, she unexpectedly encounters Cassius at a dinner party and is shocked to discover the identical tattoo on his neck. Coinciding with the editor-in-chief pressuring her to secure an exclusive interview with Cassius, Vivian took the opportunity to gradually close in under the guise of an interview. Yet Cassius had long seen through her disguise, turning the tables to view her as prey and trapping her beside him with every means possible. Every time she attempted to escape, he dragged her back with even stronger force. Meanwhile, Lucian, her long-time boyfriend, gradually revealed his ambiguous relationship with his step-sister Lilia, leaving Vivian completely heartbroken about the past. Caught in the tug-of-war between revenge and emotions, she discovered that Cassius was not the real enemy—the man who killed her father, Damon, was actually a subordinate of his father, a hidden thread he was also pursuing. And Cassius finally realized that the girl who had saved him years ago was never prey. She was the hunter, the only person in his life he willingly allowed to capture him.
