"At her wedding, Jenny is betrayed by her fiancé Richard. Heartbroken, she tries to use one hundred thousand dollars to hire a male escort from a bar in order to bear an heir for the Thorne family. But she has no idea that the down‑and‑out escort she thinks she is hiring is actually the current head of the Slint Group, which controls half of Manhattan. At a welcome banquet hosted by the Thorne family, Jenny is forced to hand over all her client resources and is cast aside as a discarded pawn. With her back against the wall, she publicly tears up a confession, reveals the family’s dark financial secrets, and announces she is cutting ties. Just as the villains prepare to use their capital to destroy her, the “pretty boy” she has been keeping arrives with his team as the final act—he sheds his disguise as a secret heir and immediately freezes the Thorne family’s trust funds. Jenny also stops pretending, revealing her identity as a top‑tier trader. Together, they short the century‑old family and turn the entire Upper East Side upside down.
