"Avery, the heiress of the Sterling family, endures three years of a marriage in name only—a “mute bride.” What finally arrives is not her husband Dominic’s pity, but the collapse of her family and the cruel betrayal of her mother, Eleanor. As a rare O‑negative blood type, she once secretly saved Dominic’s mother and his good friend, her deeds stolen by the scheming Seraphina. In Dominic’s eyes, Avery becomes a mercenary gold‑digger. After a carefully orchestrated conspiracy, Avery “dies” in an accident, taking her unborn child with her. Three years later, under a new name, she returns in a blaze of glory as a top screenwriter, accompanied not only by a pair of genius twin babies but also by the devoted protection of the mysterious wealthy heir, Colton. Dominic, now a powerful figure in Manhattan, watches as the truth surfaces: the “first love” he has doted on for three years is a venomous fraud, while the abandoned wife he tormented and drove to the brink of death is the very woman who saved his life four years ago. As hatred turns into humble remorse, and as life‑or‑death danger looms again, Dominic resolves to pay with his own life—just for one glance back from Avery."
