Felix, who lost his hearing later in life, overheard his boyfriend Derek mocking his disability for laughs at a bar. He smashed a bottle and walked out. Derek retaliated by getting Felix fired. With nowhere to go, Felix was taken in as an assistant by Derek's uncle Vincent—who had secretly loved Felix for years and had been quietly watching over him. Felix went from avoidance to guarded affection, through a car accident, hospital stays, and misunderstandings resolved. In the end, he opened his heart to Vincent.
