Felix, an orphan of an earthquake, was adopted by FBI agent Kay; over eight years together, he developed romantic feelings for his adoptive father that went beyond a filial bond. On the night of his eighteenth birthday, Felix orchestrated a sexual encounter with a drunken Kay; upon sobering up, Kay was devastated by guilt and threw him out. Felix left heartbroken, while Kay was consumed by remorse. When they reunited months later, their deep-seated affection and lingering guilt intertwined; ultimately, they confronted their true feelings, broke free from social and ethical constraints, established a romantic relationship, and—with the blessings of those around them—found a happy life together.
