Eulalia was a fallen heiress, forced to work as a nightclub hostess. One night, she found a wounded man on the street and saved his life. She took his ring as payment. That man was Cosimo Moretti, the most feared mafia don in the city. Days later, she was forced to marry him as a substitute bride. She recognized him. He didn't trust her. His mother drugged them on their wedding night. Cosimo's coldness slowly melted as Eulalia searched for her missing mother. Her cruel stepsister Madge and stepmother Hester stood in her way. An old rival, Damon, wanted to destroy Cosimo. He hid Eulalia's mother in an asylum, using her rare blood to create a deadly antibody. Eulalia uncovered the truth, saved her mother, and helped Cosimo defeat Damon. But Cosimo was dying. He had only months left. He was not the real Cosimo—he was Caspian, a dying man who had taken the don's place to protect the family. Eulalia loved him anyway. They had a son. Cosimo surrendered to atone for his past. Five years later, he returned. They faced one final betrayal from Madge. Their son survived. They flew into the sunset as a family. She had started in the dark. She ended in the light.
