The Black family is one of the most powerful century‑old dynasties on the East Coast, with business interests spanning finance, real estate, and shipping. Adric Black, the family’s only son, was presumed dead after a shipwreck three years ago. The entire family estate was placed under the name of Adric’s posthumous child, managed by the child’s mother, Vivian. Once nothing more than Adric’s secret lover, Vivian leveraged the child to rise from an unknown mistress to the de facto controller of the Black family. But three years later, Adric returns alive—with no memory of his past, and accompanied by the woman who saved his life.
