Emily is suffering from a terminal illness. Seven years ago, she resolutely broke up with her first love—and future NFL superstar—Kayden so as not to be a burden to him. When they reunite seven years later, Kayden, driven by a misunderstanding, subjects her to all manner of humiliation, which Emily endures in silence. After suffering a series of blows—including her brother’s tragic death and being framed at work—Emily’s condition becomes critical. Upon learning the truth, Kayden is overcome with remorse; he calls off his wedding and stays by her bedside, where his heartfelt plea brings the dying Emily back to life.
