Fifteen years ago, two wealthy heirs were trapped in a metal van in the Nevada desert. Hunter gave Chloe a St. Christopher amulet. Chloe faked her death to save Hunter from dehydration and was abandoned on a breakwater by her kidnappers. She was later rescued by boat repairman Hank, who spent all his wealth to save her and renamed her Mia. Fifteen years later, Mia works as a deckhand at a luxury yacht club. Riley, Hank's biological daughter, accidentally discovers Mia's true parentage and, lured by immense wealth, decides to steal her life. To solidify her position, Riley exploits Mrs. Sterling's guilt, instigating her to repeatedly abuse Mia. Hunter becomes suspicious through Mia's hand-drawn sketches and secretly sends veteran electrician George to monitor her, successfully retrieving the real DNA sample. Desperate, Riley imprisons Mrs. Sterling in a top-secret vault, attempting to force her to sign an asset transfer statement. Riley frantically reveals the truth: it was Mrs. Sterling's arrogance that led her to poison and nearly strangle her own daughter. Riley was arrested and imprisoned, facing attempted murder and multiple fraud charges. A month later, Mrs. Sterling recovered and threw a grand dinner for Mia at the manor docks. Mia wore the St. Christopher's silver coin again and embraced Hunter tightly.
