Aurora, the abandoned daughter of a New York financial dynasty, was cast out by her stepmother at twelve. Years later, she returns as the world's most feared mercenary queen. To settle old scores, she agrees to replace her runaway stepsister and marry Soren — the “crippled” eldest son of a powerful family. Neither of them is what they seem. Aurora hides her lethal skills. Soren hides his strength. They start as wary strangers, but soon realize they are both playing a much deeper game. Together, Aurora and Soren uncover the truth: her stepmother murdered Aurora's mother. And behind Soren's family lies a web of power waiting to be taken. As they tear down enemies side by side, something unexpected grows between them. But the biggest battle is still ahead — and the person standing in their way may be closer than they think.
