Elena, the female commander of the North, relinquished her title of lord to her husband, Karen, for the sake of love, only to be betrayed by him as he seized power. Her beloved mount, the snow lion Frosthowl, was poisoned by Karen’s mistress, Leah. She shed her disguise, unveiled the Vilan Blackstone Token, and regained command of the army. Fearing punishment, Karen and Leah fled and sought refuge with the barbarians, handing over the defense maps. Elena set an ambush in the Frozen Gorge, routed the barbarian army, and captured the traitors. Ultimately, the two were sentenced to hanging, and Elena was named Guardian of the North, governing the region alongside Damian, a knight from the South.
