Leah, a single mother in Austin, runs a food truck selling homemade Texas pies. She has one goal: save enough money to send her five-year-old daughter Millie to private school—and escape her abusive family. Five years ago, Leah’s mother and half-brother drugged her, trying to force her into a marriage with a farm owner. Fleeing that nightmare, she crossed paths with Ethan, the heir to a century-old baking dynasty searching for a lost family recipe. One night changed everything. Millie was born. Now, Ethan faces his own war: his aunt wants to steal the family’s National Traditional Baker title, and his 90-year-old grandmother demands to see him married with a child. Ethan spots Leah’s food truck, defends her from bullies, and hires her and Millie to pose as his wife and daughter for the birthday gala. But his aunt has bribed Leah’s family to expose the lie. Leah thought this was just a paycheck. Instead, she and Millie are pulled into a storm of wealth, betrayal, and secrets that could shatter them all.
