In Manhattan's Upper East Side, Clara, to repay Elder Arthur's adoption debt, humbly marries Julian, heir of the von Sture family, enduring years of cold disdain and control. Julian, manipulated by his first love Vanessa, obeys her every word. On their wedding anniversary, Arthur and his wife are ambushed with silver bullets and left dying—only the Blood Pool and its Blood Crystal can save them. Clara begs through tears, but Julian, egged on by Vanessa, refuses to answer calls and seals the Blood Pool, causing Arthur and his wife to die. During the millennial Blood Tide, Vanessa deceives Julian, beats everyone to the Blood Pool, and attempts to use the Origin Stone to complete the baptism and replace Clara as Vampire Queen. Clara tears off her disguise and unleashes the true resonance of the Origin Stone—it turns out Arthur, before dying, had passed all inheritance rights of Blood Moon Capital and ultimate Blood Pool authority to her. She strips Vanessa of her power. Julian, learning the truth, breaks down and kneels begging, only to be coldly kicked aside as Clara takes iron-fisted control of the vampire empire and Blood Moon Capital.
