For five years, firefighter Ethan accepted Evelyn's strict rules about their marriage, convinced her distance came from devotion and belief. The illusion shattered when he learned her heart had never left Liam, the boy she loved long before Ethan, and that she had chosen Ethan for security rather than affection. Ethan walked away and filed for divorce. Soon, the woman who dismissed him discovered he was the only successor to the influential Carter family. Building a thriving investment empire, Ethan became everything Evelyn never expected him to be. She tried to win him back when his success made her regret impossible to hide, but he had finally learned his worth. As Evelyn's carefully built life fell apart, Ethan moved forward with someone capable of giving him genuine loyalty.
