Nineteen‑year‑old Yale medical student Emily Carter faces crushing debt from her father’s disabling injury. Pressured by her greedy step‑mother Debra, she enters a physical‑for‑money arrangement with top neurosurgeon Adrian Whitmore to cover her father’s life‑sustaining treatment. As they repeatedly cross paths, cold‑dominant Adrian grows genuinely attached to Emily, while she struggles between survival and self‑respect. She endures abuse from Adrian’s violent brother Xavier and hidden manipulation from seemingly kind professor Mike Hayes. After kidnapping, violence, frame‑ups and family conflicts, Emily cuts off toxic kinship. Adrian abandons his transaction‑minded mindset, and the two build sincere, equal love on the ruins of their deal.
