Kalen, a blacksmith of the Northern Realm raised by the legendary warrior Silas, bears the long-dormant Golden-Eyed bloodline — power enough to shake the entire continent. Silas entrusts him with half a vampire fang relic, sending him south to House Ashborn to honor an ancient betrothal. Along the way, Kalen saves Lila, the family’s youngest daughter, and is pulled into a war between the Four Great Vampire Clans, the Vampire Senate, and the Orc Tribes. Kalen soon learns he is the Ashborns’ long-lost eldest son, abandoned at birth twenty years prior. To protect his mother and kin, he unleashes his Golden-Eyes against formidable foes Klausen and Vaughn, and journeys into the hidden realm aided by Silas, Lila, and the huntress Ella. He ultimately inherits the legacy of the Progenitor Cain, defeats the Orc King and Blood Moon Wolf Lord, and secures his family and new home with the power of his Golden-Eyes.
