Nora Hayes is a brilliant drug researcher and the true daughter of the Hayes family, but her brother Mason, her best friend Emma, and the adopted Lily all choose to erase her. To steal Nora’s drug launch and hand the spotlight to Lily, Mason arranges a brutal attack, destroys Nora’s reputation, and even delays the surgery that could save her future. After uncovering years of stolen credit, including the kidney she gave Emma and the fire where she saved Mason, Nora stops begging to be believed. With Professor Voss’s help, she disappears into a protected life in France, relearns how to work, creates a breakthrough drug, and returns as someone they can no longer break.
