Three years after leaving Onyx Stormfire, Serafina meets him again at the Grand Clan Gathering hosted by the Ravenwing clan—only to find another woman at his side. No one knows that Serafina once gave up half of her own dragonfire to save Onyx from death, then pretended she had fallen for his younger brother, Corin, so Onyx would hate her and stop searching for the truth. The divided flame has left her unable to shift, and the last of her dragonfire is fading. She has returned only to see him one final time. When Corin reveals the truth, Onyx risks everything to reach her. Their twin dragonfires finally reunite, saving them both. Locke is exposed as the poisoner behind the conspiracy, while Vessa’s false pregnancy scheme falls apart. At last, Serafina and Onyx become bonded mates, vowing to grow old together.
