Born a commoner, Eleanor has spent years quietly protecting her husband, Duke Adrian, and his kingdom. After being publicly humiliated and heartlessly cast aside by the man she loves, Eleanor finally gives up on their marriage and walks away. Only after she leaves does Adrian discover that the mysterious masked warrior who repeatedly saved his life was Eleanor all along. What he still does not know is that she is also the long-lost heir to a powerful empire. When Eleanor reclaims her identity and the power that rightfully belongs to her, Adrian finally realizes what he has lost. Meanwhile, an ambitious regent launches a coup, plunging the entire kingdom into crisis. With both his former wife and his realm in danger, Adrian is willing to sacrifice everything to protect Eleanor. But this time, he is no longer fighting to win back her love—only for the chance to earn her forgiveness.
