Harper is an orphan from the slums, with no degree and no connections. She takes a job as a live-in nanny for Liam, a former race car champion left paralyzed and broken after a career-ending crash. One is a man who's given up on life. The other is a woman who's never had a chance to live. Through sheer grit and stubborn kindness, Harper pulls Liam back from the edge. And when her world comes crashing down, Liam becomes the shield she never had. When danger closes in, Harper fakes a betrayal to protect him, and the two part ways in heartbreak. A year later, she resurfaces as the CEO of her own bakery empire. This time, when they meet, they stand as equals—no longer employer and employee, but rivals and soulmates. From the slums to the top. From opposites to partners. This is a story of two people who saved each other, and loved each other, against all odds.
