Desperate for money, Lila Hale takes a high-paying private-care job at the Voss Estate. There she meets Ethan Voss, the sharp-tempered head of a powerful conglomerate, publicly believed to be wheelchair-bound after a severe injury. Wary, Ethan tests Lila relentlessly. But Lila, heir to her grandfather’s filigree-inlay craft, holds fast to her principles and slowly earns his trust. They sign a one-year companion contract: Lila acts as his public partner through corporate conflicts; in return, Ethan helps her reclaim her grandfather’s jewelry studio, seized by her stepmother. As days pass, their wary dynamic blooms into real feelings, and the transaction-based agreement begins to shift. Ethan hides a secret tied to a car crash three years prior. The hostile Reed family schemes to bring him down and target Lila. Together they face traps, rumors, and power plays, uncovering truths bit by bit. Free of their contract, they preserve the time-honored craft and build a life rooted in genuine love.
